:) Ok beyond a passport and a Visa Waiver form, is one kosher to go through the hallowed gates or does one need to do anything else?

Mods sorry to troll on AH but wanted a reasonably quick response - feel free to lock when get a definitive answer :)

America is a dangerous place, you should carry a gun.
And some cocaine too to sell if you lose your wallet.

Try not to appear tired, poor or as a huddled mass yearning to be free. Emma's lamp's gone out and that door is closed.

When they ask you the question about 'are you here to overthrow the government?' just answer 'Yes. It's the sole reason for my visit.'

    America. F*ck yeah!

They have so many plastic paddies that they wont let you in unless you have a convincing name.

"Al" is a good first name. I also hear a convincing surname is "Keyda". When you're bording the plane, make sure you say "Irish?? Of course not, i'm Al Keyda!!"

As far as I'm aware it is one of the more difficult countries to move to permanently, I imagine you'll need a lot of cash and an understanding of what to expect.

I think it's something we all want to do! Get out of this kip

Bring lots of cash if you hold an AIB card.
