Did not hear it, while I am a bit unsure as to how Ming will get on, I give him full marks for supporting country rural sports... Time will tell:rolleyes:

He's also giving half his TD salary of ~95,000 to develop recreational facilities in his constituency.

I think our sports should be safe enough in the hands of FG,their hard core supporters in my area would be mostly protestant/farmers/country folk ,people that hunt and fish in general, not sure about the rest of the country.

,people that hunt and fish in general,.

But will they promote the protection of natural habitats that sustain shooting and fishing if their in with big agribusiness?? - I have some major doubts about the blueshirts in that respect:(

I can vouch that Andrew Doyle (currently agriculture spokesman) has attended several meetings locally over the past few years regarding issues relating to wildlife, shooting and conservation. The fact that he attended suggests that these issues are well on the agenda.

Hard to know, I've heard that Labour are interested in this one.

A lot of potential issues ahead need to be watched such as pressure for a return to the river drainage practices of the seventies and eighties. My guess is that agriculture is going to become a lot more intensive in future due to rising prices for produce and possibly much lower grant aid. How this would affect habitats would be greatly affected by decisions made at a national level over the coming years.
