Per title. SE is the trim level. What does the TDV refer to ? Seen on both 1.9TDi's and 2.0TDi's.

    Thanks !

I often wondered about that too as I have one of those tdi tdv se type thing car things. One reply I got from a simular type question as yours was "it has a sports suspension" the other reply was TDV means Vorsprung durch Technik TDV VDK who cares, It may also mean that your car is UK spec as apposed to the Irish model which is known as 1.9 TDI bogstandard with a coat hanger as extra

I believe its to differentiate between variations of an engine for emission standards.

    Eg. 2.0L Euro 3 vs 2.0L (TDV) Euro 4

Particle filter. Good for emissions, expensive if it needs replacing.

    Thanks guys.

I would have expected the DPF to have significantly reduced the emissions ? 04 A4 1.9TDi = 154g/km, 07 A4 1.9 TDi TDV = 152g/km. Numbers are a good bit higher than 320d for example.

Get a 2.0 TDI if you want a 320d chaser

The 1.9 is a little old to be comparing with a 320d, you would want to be comparing the 2.0L common rail for a fairer comparison.

"Chaser" being the correct word ;)

    B7 A4 2.0 TDI 140 PS 0-100km/hr 9.7 sec Top Speed: 124.5 mph (200 km/h)
    B7 A4 2.0 TDI 170PS 0-100km/hr 8.6 sec Top Speed: 127 mph
    E90 320d 163 PS 0-100km/hr 8.3 s Top Speed: 144 mph
    E90 320d 177 PS 0-100km/hr 7.9 s Top Speed: ?? mph
