    Hi!

Anyone know how to get rid of rust inside alloy wheels? No rust actually on alloys, just inside.

Have a lovely 04 Focus, and I know have noticed it on plenty of other cars, just wondered if there was something to get rid of it!

    Thanks!

Is it on the wheel or not?
Do you mean rust on the brake disk or drum?

Sorry should have been more clear, no rust at all on the outside alloy wheel, just literally inside the alloy on that part where you would put on a wheel

Brake disks and drum are sound!

    The hub?

I'm not sure what you are at or how bad it is but normally it shouldn't be that bad - the worst I've ever seen would require a bit of sandpaper.

yes exactly like this! Sorry I sound so clueless about the part of the car, ya the hub! So get out the sandpaper and can get rid of it? Excellent, I am sure this is comment information but its new to me so thanks a lot for the advice!

why would you worry about rust on the hub where it cant be seen, alloy cannot rust but sometimes you get a reaction between alloy and steel but nothing to worry about

Im not worried, its simply a cosmetic thing, I figured Id ask on boards and someone would have an answer (the genius forum that it is!), esp as I haven't a clue about anything to do with cars! Thanks for all the advice, it is much appreciated!

Its prudent to "tidy" it up before putting a wheel back on but to put much effor in is futile tbh as it will only come back.
