Windscreen wiper motor is a common fail and suspension bits and bobs are not cheap. 1.8 with the manual box can be close to 40mpg on a run. Not a nice car in most peoples view, too small to be a proper merc and 1.8 is a weasy ole thing in them. Auto C180s are worse on fuel obviously.

Having owned a 1997 c180 auto i have to say i loved it.
It isnt fast but very comfortable and very well built.

I had clk200 amd i needed to go for every little bit to dealer for it. Is it same?

Wow 40 mpg is damn impresive, more then i could ask.

Would it be more sturdy then 96++ e200?

If i will be willing to go 2.0 i will get pug 406 hdi. Or s70 2.0. So 1.8 merc kind of perfect for me...

I presume it wount be like legendary e class up to 96?
