I have that same tea set and took it to an appraiser during a US Antiques Roadshow taping. Said it's value is around US$100 to US$200 but my grandmother thinks he doesn't know what he's talking about. I've seen the blue set with white relief for US $2000-$4000.

I would have thought its value lay closer to the 100-200 valuation .

I had the same tea set and the mug in my antique shop. Sold the tea set for $995 and the mug for $495. With over 40 years in the antique business my opinion of some of the appraisals on Antiques Roadshow is that they don't know much unless they get the item on air. There is a set online for $1200 currently, with a restored spout. I feel that is a bit high on the pricing. Wedgewood destroyed their unsold inventory of the Edward VIII coronation items when news of his abdication was announced.

If you're an Irish Antique dealer I wouldn't be surprised to see the Wedgwood set marked at $995 and the mug at $495 in your shop but I would be surprised that anyone would pay that sort of money for them. I have seen identical pieces on eBay in the past for small change but I'll be paying closer attention in future - thanks for the tip-off! :D
