Síos: go dtí áit níos ísle (dul síos an staighre, síos chun na trá); ar crochadh nó ar sileadh (bhí a gruaig síos léi); ó thuaidh (síos go Cúige Uladh).

Thuas: os do chionn, in uachtar, in áit níos airde (thuas an staighre; thuas sa spéir); in áit níos faide suas (an seomra thuas); sa deisceart (thuas i gCúige Mumhan); curtha suas (tá an díon thuas acu); á chaitheamh (ní raibh luid éadaigh thuas air); chun cinn, ar barr (an té atá thuas óltar deoch air).

An Modh Ordaitheach (the imperative form of the verb) is usually recognisable as the stem of most verbs.

See some examples of different verbs here: link.

If giving orders/instructions to more than one person, the suffix -(a)igí is added at the end (i. "Dúnaigí na leabhair!" Close the books. "Ithigí bhúr nglasraí". Eat your vegetables.)
