some misinformation in the irish times today, says eircom has agreed with the unions on a deal. there is no agreement with the unions. there will be a ballot, but by all accounts a strike is on the cards. those without civil service status may be let go. heres a link to one of the unions http://www.cwu.ie/GSE-02-11-Discussi...lan.901.1.aspx by all accounts the eircom members will feel let down badly by their cwu union, which seems interested more in looking after its postal members.

There is a ballot on the restructuring/9 day fortnight etc. The unions have recommended (reluctantly) that members agree to this.
    Who is proposing a strike?
