Just thought I'd mention it, fines of 150 euro can be applied for every poster.

They should also be fined for every cable tie that they leave behind.

I'm seeing lots of poster-less poles but loads of cable-ties left behind and it drives me mad.

Wish those election posters were banned, they have never influenced my vote and are a waste of money.

Can be applied but won't be!
They will give them a long period of grace to get them down.

I was wondering when the deadline is... Posters still all over the place in my area of South West Dublin. I'm sick of looking at them!

The cable ties are generally from posters that have been taken down by the weather. The cable ties get cut and taken with the poster by the post-election teams.

Also you generally can't tell who the cable ties belong to.

Sorry gotta disagree there, I drive around North Dublin a lot and I have seen hundreds of poles without posters and cable ties left on them.

I have seen whole streets in Swords that now have very little posters and lots of cable ties on them. They are definitely being left behind by lazy election workers.

Chris Andrews' are the only ones left standing in Rathmines/Harold's Cross.

Someone politely tell him he lost his seat!

I took a poster down from a pole in my area on my way home this evening. It was from a candidate who failed to get elected and Im considering holding on to it as a souvenir.;)

Apparently fines are larger if people are seen to rob election posters, so that will be compounded with a littering fine if they set out to frame a candidate. Éirigí have taken a very proactive position in the taking down of posters; for all candidates . . .

Hundreds if not thousands of posters were taken down by the weather...

I don't know how other teams do theirs, but generally it's harder to take a poster down with the cable ties intact than it is to take the whole lot.

Joe Costello seems to have forgotten to take all of his posters down. They're on nearly every lamp post. He's going to get a huge fine.

Definitely not the case in Galway West. Outside my place I can see cable ties left over from Green, Independent and FG posters. They were taken down, not blown.

Talking to people this seems to be common enough.
