Looking to get an all in one piece of kit for my car (charger/fm transmitter/cradle), anyone use one and if so, what one? Iv been looking at ones by Griffin and Belkin but not sure about compatiblity with iphone4?

Also, none of the sites like amazon, play etc. will deliver to Ireland for some reason, so wheres the best place to get one?

Any charger/transmitter which is compatible with the 3G or 3GS will work perfectly with an iPhone4. If it's a cradle, it might be a slightly different matter, though they're not that different in size.
If you have an AUX connection on your car stereo, Argos are doing a great deal on the TomTom cradle at present.

You mention FM Transmitter/Charger in the title of your thread, I'm not sure what you mean by 'all in one' because I don't know of any FM transmitter that does anything else beyond charging the iPod/iTouch/iPhone and transmitting an FM signal to the car radio.

The Argos gadget mentioned by the first reply above doesn't do anything that you're looking for, it's just a cradle for the windscreen of a car so I'm mystified as to why it's mentioned at all.

There are multiple threads on his forum with people looking for 'cheap' FM transmitters, you need to be aware that for the function that it delivers you absolutely have to go for an established brand like Griffin, Gear4 or Monster so you're right to be looking at the established brands. You shouldn't have a problem with Amazon UK delivering to Ireland, can you outline what the problem is and which device they will not deliver to here?

The Argos TomTom can play the music to the stereo if you use the aux, with the audio out connector you can play all your favourite songs through your car's audio system with the optional audio cable. It even fades music out when receiving calls and giving directions.

Thanks for the replies guys, regarding the Argos device, don't think it's an option as my stereo does not appear to have the relevant connection?

Coyle, tried ordering a griffin device but when I got to the payments screen it just said that it could not deliver to this address? I will check it again though.

Hmmm ok just tried amazon again and it was actually a trixes device I tried to order previously, except this time it accepted the order! Only £15 Inc delivery do not expecting much from this, got a couple of decent reviews so will try it and see.

If the OP had an AUX input in his car stereo he wouldn't be looking at an FM transmitter now would he?

Many stereos have the aux in at the back, so people think they have to use fm transmitters.

The tom-tom unit will play music, charge the device and is also a handsfree kit and enhances the GPS signal of the phone.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Griffin-iTrip-AutoPilot-6191-TRPAUTOC-Transmitter/dp/B0010X7H4S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1299370908&sr=8-1

I use this one a Griffin iTrip AutoPilot

It displays song info on the radio vis RDS. And the top of the charger is a remote control.

I use a Belkin Tunecast Auto. It works really well and has RDS too.

I got a kensington iPhone holder in an O2 shop about a year ago, and have that mounted on the dashboard. It's a really good holder: sturdy and safe. It's never come loose and the phone has never popped out of it.
