New Smart Case and IPad 1

    Hey All,

    Tried looking around for this one and even thought of calling apple about it, but cant find any thing!
    Does anyone know if the new smart covers will work with the IPad 1?

    Its only for the ipad 2. Works on magnets or some such

    Doubtful as it requires a magnet which is probably built into the iPad2, same way the wake/sleep function would prob only work with the 2nd version

    I was thinking bout this myself, but from looking at the pics of iPad 2 with the case. It looks like the tapered edge also plays a part in the cover. It's nice, but two things have put me off. When your taking off and putting on the case- over time this will scratch it. The second - no protection for the back or sides, so more scratches and hope you don't drop it. I'd wait and see what third party cases come out. As for iPad 1, the clamcase is the best I've seen. I'm using apples own case at the mo and no complaints

    I've apples own case as well. Grand except it gets very dirty very quickly

    I wouldn't buy one for the ipad2 if I owned one, never mind the original iPad.

    An awful impracticable looking piece of junk if I'm honest.

    Well I think the Smart Cover is really cool. I'm not a big a fan of these bulky cases. Is it overpriced? Hell yes, but so are all accessories, not just Apple's. These things are the main way retailers make a profit on Apple devices.
