    AND HOW CAN THEY FLY UPSIDE DOWN LIKE THAT?? (Must be scary as anything)

    They, practice, work out a program, practice and talk thro the detail, then practice.. and with a colossal number of flying hours.

    Then, some more practice, run thro the program again, trial runs and just to polish things up, Practice.

    The almost metronomic sequence of movements and adjustments, turn and twist, stall and recover.

    Special aircraft and tailored seats and harnesses.

    Then, just as a safety measure, some more practice. on a regular basis

    Those are stunt planes. The engines are a massive part of there agility and the fact the propellers are at the front but it takes a massive amount of skill on top of the power of the engine. They had planes like these at the Galway air show a few years ago and they where spectacular.

    The American F22 can do similar things which is very impressive given that it's a jet and it's engine is propelling from the rear but it may be less down to the skill of the pilot and more to do with the technology in the plane.

    The stall in mid air pointing upwards is relatively easy on a prop plane because it essentially becomes a helicopter but with a jet it's much more impressive.
