Just got rode up the arse for 40€, my understanding of the USC was that the PRSI charge was to be included in the USC?

    I got 20€ and 20€...

So how much per week do you get rode for with the USC and PRSI ..

PRSI BTW ain't worth bollox anymore can't even get my teeth cleaned with it. I had to listen to my mate on the dole moan , how he can only get two freebies with the dentist per year and rest are at reduced rate. Needless to say I lost the plot with him. He is the type of pheker that, was moaning the last 3 years about the goverment and then doesn't vote. What the **** was he moaning about all them years...

Last week another USC load of bollox , they taxed me 10€ on my pay of 170€.. WTF it's less than the dole. This country needs too shape up and stop pissing low paid workers off. Everyone I know has a problem with this in the sense, it's eating threw there pay.

I understand the need for everyone to lend a hand, I honestly wouldn't have a problem with 1,2,3,4,5 € not 40€! That's 4 hours out of my 39 Hours week gone. And sadly I don't get a bonus every week to add on.

With Labour in government, I don't see the USC lasting long, if that's any solace, OP.

I don't mind helping out. Done the maths just there, and there taking 9% of my pay in tax. Might not sound like alot to some people on here. But I don't get payed that much per week under 500€. So it's a big hit and with the price of goods rising rapidly.

We're all going to get screwed with taxes and cuts and soaring food and fuel costs. That's the worst thing about being in the position we are right now.
To be honest, I'm resigned to it at this stage. But I won't acquiesce to it unless I see Bono and Pat Kenny and every Oireachtas member paying till it hurts too. If there aren't tax hikes for top earners, then I'm going to look very closely at my financial arrangements to see what tax avoidance measures I could take.
Because if we're not in it together, then why the feck should I be in it at all?

Your damn right too. These FAILED TDs wanting there money for there WORK . What work? I see an island in ruins, and there talking about pay offs in the millions. They shouldn't see a cent.

How much money do these people want, honestly have they not got as much as they need ? If there house is paid for and they have a few million in the bank, just stop asking for more. Please, I can't afford any-more of this non sense. If they had any self respect they would just leave without any pay off. I wish I could direct were I wanted my tax paying money to go too. Cause it certainly wouldn't be anywhere near the Dail I know that much.

Apparently Mary O'Rourke's pension is nearly 300 grand a year. That's shy of a grand a day, ffs. For her to sit on her hole and do feck all.
At least she's pensionable age, though. We're paying massive pensions out to pondlife like Bertie and McDowell and Bruton who are all well under retirement age and are making good money anyway.
First law I'd like to see passed is that no parliamentary pension is paid to anyone under the statutory retirement age.

I've got to ask this: is it possible that the mechanisms used by our last government to reduce (or in some cases stop) certain payments to certain members of our society not be used to likewise significantly reduce or stop payments of these pensions? & I mean the super-pensions these politicos get.

This has always been my concern. What seriously happens these people where they get so greedy and shameless? How can they not feel bad? It's like a ****ing mental illness. Living off the dole and complaining is bad enough, but stealing thousands a week for nothing is just......**** it just outrageous. Yes, you 'worked hard' but so does everyone with a job. Martyrs....

The monster pensions have to stop alright, especially now we've blown the entire €20 billion National Pension Reserve Fund on propping up banks, which blew their money on building useless ghost estates in the back end of nowhere, which NAMA is holding on to to prevent the housing market collapsing overnight, which is keeping house prices high, which is leading to higher rents which equals even more money taken out of your pockets to pay off the banks, and round and round we go...

I don't think we can unilaterally cancel pensions though, since the previous government entered into a legal agreement with, er, the previous government... to pay it's TDs huge pensions... and you'd end up in massive court cases because the government agreed its pensions with itself and can't undo that, there is something very wrong with all this...

Well, this is what I don't understand. Politicians who are now saying they will cut the pay of politicians etc.........I mean seriously, who cuts their OWN pay? Nobody. That's who.

Unfortunately, the problem is the whole way this system is propped up. It's all intertwined in a big mind-fúckery gang-bang. Things actually NEED to get severely bad, because then people will truly riot and get real change and not some half-ass capitalistic wankery about politicians making Ireland a fairer place.

They care not one ounce. Not a single one. It's a job for **** sake! Please the people so they'll lube up and take it another time.

Out of a total of 26 workers in the transport company i work for five have left work since the start of the new year. All bar one (who emigrated) have a family and have done the math and come to the conclusion they will be better off on the dole. I'm leaning that way myself as the only thing keeping me working is my sanity. The USC has pushed people over the edge. I have lost 22 euro a week out of my very low wages.

I'm on average wages and i've lost 120quid per month. Colleagues in same boat and we all are reining in our spending. What the FF govt have done is made people who have jobs save, their policy of taxing us is going to strangle retail alot this year. And yes, its making the economy worse.

Let them go bareback for an extra few quid.

You have to think outside of the box in these times.

We had very low PRSI for years. We are paying for it now with no increase in services to look forward too, or rather, the least drop in services possible.

It can be restructured which means we'll just end up paying for it in some other way.

NIC is very high in the North and comparable to the USC. They get more for their money whereas this is just to help pay wages and welfare!
