This guy - like a lot of dopes who seem to think we want to listen to their "instructional" videos on YouTube (what is lacking in these guys lives, eh?) - is a fully fledged retard. He has not one, but TWO cameras on his bike, FFS!!

He has virtually engineered this 'near-miss' in order to make his point and sex up his 'video'. He is out of the cycle lane to give the white car some room and knowing that the red car is about to pull out, he then proceeds to pull BACK INTO the cycle lane simply to cause a confrontation. And then he starts with the verbal.............God save us from these sort of ****es.
    (rant over):P

Maybe it's just me, or maybe it's our Irish roads, but why don't I find myself getting as annoyed about stupid driving as the people posting videos on youtube seem to?

Another video posted the other day was a guy chasing down a car and going nuts because "ZOMG!!" he passed with 12 - 20 inches. To me, that's par for the course. Passing within a foot isn't fun, but I'm not going to go crazy about it and chase them down. If I was to chase down every driver who did something stupid in the mornings, I'd have to leave an hour earlier.

As pointed out above, the guy making the video clearly spotted the danger because of the reduced visibility and moved out to account for it. That kind of "incident" happens on a regular basis, I don't get worked up about it, I just make sure the car isn't going to keep coming, and I go around him.

Only if they were going in the same direction as him.

+1 Though I do like to try make eye contact where possible with drivers who make those sort of silly mistakes - remind them that cyclists exist, are human, and could they please include us in their considerations while checking for traffic. No need to chase 'em down, just a "what are you up to?" shrug/hand gesture.

I'm an experienced cyclist, but perhaps if they were to make the same mistake with a newer rider, the consequences could be worse.

I'm more troubled by the retards who think it's ok to cycle in the wrong direction on a one-way streets, and hence, directly in my path. I've noticed it particularly with Dublin Bike users, who seem to think that it's ok to cycle the wrong way just because there's a station nearby. Makes for a nice roaring match when I've a bus alongside me and a dope-on-a-bike heading straight for me!

He leaves the cycle lane to make him self more visable, so rather than adjust his position slightly when the red car edges out, he steers back towards it.

    Utter fail.

    I-could-have-done this.... or-I-could-have -done-that....

Or you could take off your mirror, take down the cameras, and give me back my 90 seconds.

    :D

    This thread: 497 Views
    His Video: 608 Views.

So, essentially, Luvmastertx (which is something that we should also discuss, as the though of 61 year olds calling themselves love master anything is disturbing in itself) is getting 2 out 3 views from boards users.

What it looks like to me is a poorly place cycle lane. The cyclist understood this, made allowances, looked ahead, saw the danger and swerved right into it...... I don't see the point of this. If you are expecting a couple of painted lines on the road to relieve you of the responsibility to be aware of whats going on in front of you then it won't be long till he finds himself plastered on someones bonnet.
