Need four new tyres. Where is the most reasonable in the north of the county or city even? Went to a chap in Clonboo before and he was okay but not sure if he is still in business.

He is still there, google Clonboo tyres.
Otherwise google The Tyre King in Westside. Also good.
There are a few threads in Motors forum, like this one.

Btw, I get mine online from eiretyres or camskill, both good and cheaper than city prices. Delivery usually within a week.

When you say North Galway is Milltown too far north?
There's a place on the way into Milltown on the Tuam side.
I get my tyres there. Think its called Fair deal tyres.
Bloke who owns it is sound. Think he's called Paul.
If you are going haggle a bit.:D

Biko, checked eiretyres and they a lot cheaper but where did you get them fitted without a tyre place making a compliment of it or charging over the odds because one got them online?

And, amiable, the place in Milltown is fine, have passed it numerous time so will give them a shout. Am looking for 225/45 17". Any quote so far has been around €100 a tyre for rubbish and €120 for Hankook.

Try Joe Reaney in Toghermore, outside Tuam on the road to Abbeyknockmoy.
His number is in the phonebook but might actually be in the residential listings.

Just to let you know Fair Deal Tyres in Milltown closed a few weeks ago. Think due to the recession. But it is definitely closed.

Thanks for that. That is sad to know.

try milage tyres in the racecourse business park - head in main entrance to race course and turn right in towards dyna signs.

best price on good quality tyres I could find in Galway. Got a set of good year excellence. Price was as good as anywhere in the country and matched any price we could find in the UK. Fitting, trackign and balancing was included.

beware of very cheap deals on mainstream makes such as dunlop, pirellis etc. - was warned of places selling copies.

Francis charges about 12.50 per corner, Tyre King Westside does it for a tenner a corner. Ring first to verify.
