I've searched for lessons but nothing specific for north of Dublin. Anyone out there recommend a coach for a beginner. Happy to spent up to 20 euro for a lesson, more if they are extremely good or pro.

    Thanks

for starters only professionals are technically allowed received payment for coaching otherwise in breach of loosing amateur status....
most pros should be 30e or under in the climate...but you might do well to find one for 20e....a trainee quite possibly....imho a extreme low golfer of say 3 H/C or less would be able to assist you on the basics n get you rolling....or swingin as they say

Thanks for the info, Its more important to get a lesson from someone who can explain clearly what they mean and let me know what I'm doing wrong, rather than striking a ball down the range and saying that's how to do it, 30 euro please sir. I want to enjoy it as well, find a coach who is genuinely interested in making people better, because the one I had last year by the airport in Dublin was very much interested in the cash only!

That's not a bad price for what seems to be a nice range. Do these type of instructors give handouts and make notes for you on what to practice between lessons, or do they casually swan up and down the range between a few students and then take your money with no after service? I'm sure these guys are good, but I don't want to get the service I got previously. Many thanks.

He'll probably plant a deck chair behind you on the bay, sling back, pull out a big cigar and then watch you hit away, every now and then pausing you to deliver a few concise pointers regarding your swing/stance/posture. Probably.

Or he might be out of hamlets and just give you a one to one lesson.

Hamlets clearly not going to be a man of taste then. Went around swords open last week, with my preferable cubans, hand rolled and brought back from Havanna. I must invent a cigar holder on my golf bag!

At Kinsealy you will get one on one lessons. I have been going to Anthony for a number of lessons - nice guy and very positive. He will be very positive about anything good that you do. Usually he tells me what to concentrate on during my next practise sessions -or more precisely what not to do e.g. do not hit woods, do not hit too many, only hit short irons etc. He usually encourages me to play golf between lessons so I can take the feedback from the course to him.
At the lesson he takes a look at a few swings and then when he has worked out what I am doing wrong he starts to work on that. He does not try to get you to do everything at once but just to concentrate on the one thing that will give you the next step. I always leave a lesson hitting the ball really well - and then mess up all his hard work during my future practise sessions!!!
