I have a new edition to my family, an old enough e46 318i which I want some paintless dent removal done on the passanger door. Alot of guys seem to not touch doors for some reason?

Is there a lad here that everyone recommends who does paintless dent removal? Is it "paintdoctor" ? I have a ding on my rear arch aswell which I would like removed also.

    Thanks :)

t'Aint me I'm afraid. I'm in Cork for one, and I do paint repairs instead of dents. Someone'll be able to recommend a PDR tech closer to you no doubt though.

Normally the doors are dented along the same line as the side impact protection bar inside the door. The dent removal guys cannot get their dent removal tools in near this bar to push the dent out, that is probably the source of the stories you have heard.
Having said that I have had lots of dents removed from doors over the years. I have my friend the dent doctor do a job on the cars once a year to remove anything little bits of damage.
Where abouts in the door is the dent?

It's on the passanger front door to the left side and up abit. Best way I can describe it without taking a picture:P

probably a 'piece of string' question, but what do these guys charge for a call out or can you drop in, have a very gentle dent that looks like it would pull out easily. There's no damage to the paint at all. Its just under the window on th erear passenger door, so I doubt theres a Side impact bar behind it.

I get mine by the dent devil in Cork. Try guy is a perfectionist. Small dents he usually charges 40 or 50. I'd go to him as soon as it happens but they annoy me looking at them.

If they can't get at it from behind and it's original paint they can use a special glue and pull it back into shape that way too. It's amazing watching them work tbh.

For the OP. I'd highly recommend Autodent in Dundrum shopping centre.

He removed 12 dents for me, 3 of which were on body lines for the very competitve price of €150.
