    Hi all,

My Creative Zen Vision M 30gig just died today :(

I'm looking for a worthy replacement.. I do like the apple ipod touch 64 gig but wondering if there's any android mp3 players out there or can anyone suggest something else?

    Thanks,
    Jaz

    Pity about that,

I have a Creative Zen Vision M 30 gb as well. I find it to be a great player, great for music and video.

A friend of mine (former Zen Vison M owner as well) bought the Ipod Touch 64gb and thinks it's excellent.

I've heard good things about Cowon S9 as well.

Some good deals to be had on refurbished Creative mp3 players.

Was checking out reviews for Cowon S9 and came across the Archos 5 player..

Some cnet reviews below... Wish there was more of a choice out there...

My 'Creative: Vision M' died recently (poor thing - served me so well!) and I went for the Cowon S9. No regrets. What it offered, that others didn't, was a load of codecs. I used my Vision M to watch a lot of video but most mp3 players nowadays (including newer Creative models) force you to convert - never happened to me with the Cowon so far.
It also supports drag'n'drop so you don't have to use crappy software.
    Screen quality is beautiful.

Sound wise I really like it too. There's a large number of preset effects there (e.g. bass, jazz, stage) that work well. I'm listening to Radiohead's new album in flac files and the audio output is stunning.

The UI isn't the best but you get used it pretty quickly.

Recommended from a fellow fan of the Creative!

Don't see the point in mp3 players these days, just get a good android fone and it'll cover lots of bases

I've found myself neglecting my poor little xen for this very reason. Now that Winamp is available on Android it's become a great device for playing music.

Yeah, but wouldn't that kill the battery life if your using you fone as an mp3 player. . Plus if it ever broke I'd be down an mp3 player and a fone at the same time rather than having two separate devices..

The hard disk went in it.. Feel like a change of player.. Something that supports API...

You can have the battery for free if you like.. Its not much use to me now... The screen has a small crack at the very top and bits of the white paint have come off.. Looks as if the connector for the battery to the board has come off too..

Liking the Samsung Galaxy Player YP-GB1 but from some of the reports I've been looking up about it the 16gig version is still gonna work out dearer than the 64gig version of the Ipod... Bit mad...

Just saw your in sligo there, could i send you a SAE maybe?

I wouldn't need reg'd post on a broken mp3 player anyways and theres no sense wasting my money or your time registering it.

Not sure what you mean by the battery connector as I haven't opened mine yet but i'm sure i could try sort it using parts from my one.

PM me your address and i'll send you a padded envelope with a few stamps. anpost.ie says it would cost either €1.35 or €2.70 depending on whether its large envelope or packet for an item weighing 250g and from what i can see the ZVM weighs 163 fully intact so that should cover it even allowing for the packaging weight.

    Cheers

Ah jeez man, I'm not bothered about the SAE.. I'll take care of the postage. It'll be my good deed for the day.. Just PM your address and I'll send it off to ya..

The little socket that was on the main board where the battery plugged into has come off. You'll see when you open it up what I mean... The battery itself is sound...

I can send you a charger I got for it and the dongle too if you want them.. No harm to have a spare...
