For all you space buddies out there the Space Station and Shuttle will be visible over Galway tonight at 12 minutes past 7 coming from a Westerly direction and going South East it should be in view for appx 3 minutes, this will be the last close pass to Galway on this trip it was pretty clear since last Sunday.

You can see it again tonight 8.46pm but it will be lower in the sky, tomorrow night at 7.37pm and on Sunday at 6.54pm

Whooo, hope I get to see it. Have a pretty decent pair of binoculars, what do you think my chances are ? Will search with naked eye then grab binoculars. It really is such an amazing achievement, what i would give to be up there with them.thanks for the tip off!

    Jean Byrne sez:
Mostly dry tonight, but a widespread dense fog will once again develop.

You cannot miss it with the naked eye, it is the brightest object in the sky ( moon excepted) and travels west to east.

I saw the shuttle just after Takeoff in July 2009 with the big orange tank following it, that was one cool sight.

If there is a shuttle launch and if it comes over Galway it only takes 17 Minutes to cross the atlantic after Liftoff.

Watched it in Dangan. It can fairly move!
    Great to see.

Yeah, seen it just now, you'd want some good optics to see much more than just a light tho'

I didn't see it, even though my neck was craned staring upwards :(

The Shuttle won't be visable till it seperates from the ISS on Monday. Should be able to see it on Monday evening (hopfully). It will be lowish in the sky but should be visable (weather permitting).

Too low at 11 degrees above horizon, forget it. Needs to hit 25 degrees above the horizon to get above haze....like I said.

Last night at exactly the time in the sightings list 8.46pm I saw it for appx 40 seconds, Nasa publishes the list so if you cant see from your location it will not be there. tonight should be good if its clear
