Is there any point contacting him again?

Don't know why I'm asking this because I suppose I already know the answer but here goes anyway.

I met a guy a few weeks back in a club, he came back to my house afterwards (we literally just talked and kissed, went no further than that), really liked him, next day we had breakfast, chatted, kissed and he gave me his number. We exchanged a few texts a few times since but he was heading off on holidays so we agreed to meet up when he got back (his idea).

So I decided to take the plunge and text him the other day to see if he was around to meet up... He hasn't responded. Is there anyone who thinks there's any other reason for this other than he's just not interested?! I'm tempted to give it another few days and contact him again but obviously don't want to look desperate or whatever!!

I'd prefer if he'd just respond saying he's not interested, why just ignore it altogether, MEN!

I can assure you we're not all that bad.

Id say maybe text him at the weekend, be casual about it. If he doesnt reply or doesnt seem bothered. theres your answer.

    Hi OP,

Is it possible he's still on holidays?

Like Vikcas said, maybe give it another few days and try him again. After that though, I'd leave it go.

I don't think he's still on holidays, pretty sure he was back last week, unless I'm confusing the days or something.

Oh if I do go ahead and contact him again and still get no response I'll definitely leave it!! I like him but I'm no bunny boiler! There are more fish in the sea after all.

I suppose I'm just confused because he seemed to be making a big effort and now all of a sudden there's no response at all, you'd think he'd be decent enough to at least make up an excuse rather than just completely ignoring my message. I know I sound like I'm about 5 years old but I just don't understand this behaviour ever, from anyone!!

Not at all OP, I feel your pain!

It could be any number of reasons, he may have lost his phone abroad, he may still be jet lagged, maybe this or that.

Thats why you throw him one last bone, so to speak. I'd say something like "hope you had a ball on hols" or something to that effect, cool and casual.

Be sure to let us know how you get on!

Yeah maybe, I'll leave it til Sunday and maybe throw him a line then, unless someone more interesting appears on the scene before then!!! I probably just wish I wasn't so interested in him cos this kind of thing would normally be water off a ducks back, I generally wouldn't expect to hear from guys I meet in clubs anyway, Im just finding the sequence of events incredibly strange, which is why I'm hoping there's a valid reason for no response!!

I wouldnt contact him again to be honest if you have already contacted him. I do agree with girls being able to text first and all, but you already have, if he hasnt responded yet, he's either caught up in something or else not interested, I know its harsh though, he should have replied to your text at least.

If you want to contact him again, forget texting. It's a mug's game. There could be any number of reasons you're not getting a reply. Just pick up the phone and ring him. That way you'll know once and for all where you stand. No sending the text, waiting for a reply, getting disappointed when one doesn't come and then you're back at square one. Sure, go for another contact. But do not text. Ring.

OP, text him at the weekend, seems to me he was definitely interested in you. If you get no response i'd leave it.

Oh, don't ring him as it can make the wrong impression with some guys.

I agree 100%. He knows for sure your interested so it's up to him now.

OP, from a man's perspective, if you have already sent me a txt and I did not reply, it would mean I am not interested and would hope not to hear from you again.

The holiday story could have also been just that. A story!

I would move on if I were you OP.

Ok the general consensus seems to be not to contact him again! I have given it some more thought anyway and have decided not to. If it was the other way around and then he texted me a second time I'd probably view it as a bit desperate! And if he couldn't be bothered texting back then he's not really worth seeing again anyway I think, I mean even if there was a good reason to not have responded at the time, there's no reason to have not responded at some point since other than a lack of interest! Oh well, you win some you lose some! His loss in this case ha ha!! Thanks for the advice peeps :)

I swear I'm not doing this just to be awkward!

I would have said that that single text had a lot of responsibility if it was potentially going to bring you happiness! You obviously thought there was something different about this guy.

I would have said the first text may not have been received, especially if he was abroad and you could have fudged the dates. I agree with Vicxas. Since time has now passed, a second text or voicemail would make you ten times more certain and give you closure. Who's to say he replied but it didn't get through.

Wouldn't it be awful if your dream guy was sitting there in his new sombrero waiting for his dream girl to text back?

Don't contact him again. If he was interested, he would get in touch with you. He's got your number, he knows where you live and he presumably knows people who know you. You are not impossible to find, even in the highly unlikely event that he has lost his phone or has been stranded abroad. Yes, you might be able to force an answer out of him if you chase him a bit more, but I doubt you are missing out on much. Who wants a guy that is unable to get in contact without such prompting? Who wants a guy who is too shy/confused/busy/befuddled by technology to send a text?

In my opinion, his not texting back was an answer - it was a way of telling you, without being unkind, that he didn't wish to continue contact.

I definately wouldn't text him again. Im all for girls making the first contact etc, but you tried and got no response. Regardless of the fact he MIGHT not have gotten it (relatively unlikely), if he wants to contact you, he has your number and he can.

I wouldnt waste anymore time thinking about it. If you hear from him, great. If you dont...you'll probably have forgotten about him by then anyway :)

He has her number. If he was interested he would text her. That is just my opinion. Trust your gut instinct though OP. I think you already know the answer even if you are having a lot of trouble accepting it.

I'm not having "a lot of trouble" accepting it! I'm disappointed admittedly, but I'm more surprised by the turn of events than anything! Like I said, it was his idea to meet up again etc, I just don't understand the change but i can accept it!! There's plenty more fish in the sea!
