Broken Screen

    The screen on my old laptop is broken.....is all the data that i had stored on it lost for ever or is there any way of transfering it onto my new one??

    the data is held on the hard drive - you can connect an external screen up to the laptop and use that ..... or you can get the screen replaced....or you can transfer the hard drive into an external shell and use it as an external hard drive with your next computer/laptop.

    I am not to high on these things, am i correct in saying that i can connect my new laptop to the old one with the broken screen and transfer any data i require?
    I would imagine it cost of replacing the screen of the old one would be more than the laptop is worth.

    What laptop/model is it?

    Depends on the screen type/resolution, but you can often find replacement screens for less than €50.

    Its IBM. I got it about 5 years ago for 50 quid from my employer.

    Is it a T40/41/42 series?
    Lot of those screens going for €25-€35.
