Not quite an instrument but I'm not sure where to put this...
I'm considering buying one of Line 6's USB interfaces for a bit of home recording.. I'm a first time buyer.. Have no experience with Recording whatsoever!

The few things that I've been looking at are the, Line6 Pod Studio GX (€98), the Line6 Pod Studio UX1 (€133) and the Line6 Pod Studio UX2 (€185).
I'm particularly gravitating towards the UX2 'cause of the dual mic and guitar inputs and the optical out.. BUT... The guts of €200 seems like a lot of money.. So I kinda want people's opinions before I decide...
    Thanks :)

It all depends on what exactly you're recording at home.

The first one's just for laying down basic guitar tracks.

The UX1's great for acoustic acts where it's just guitar and vocals or something simple like that.

UX2 would be for stuff liking dual mic'ing guitar speakers, or bass and guitar amps at the same time. Or even 4 mics around the room.

But if it's a full band you're gonna need a mixer and a preamp. Mixer for the 5 or 6 drum mics, preamp for better sound.

I'm also interested in the UX2, how is it for recording a mic'd guitar speaker?
I'm not a fan of digital effects/amps in the slightest but if milking a cab comes through nice I'd be really into buying one of these or even the UX1.
