Is it illegal to Bcc or CC an email? This is not in a work environment.
Can anyone tell me the legalities surrounding this?
    Thanks

    Nope, not illegal.

    Thanks for replying so fast.
    Really? In any situation?

Ah, well that may change the situation. I'm not sure what the legal ramifications would be as I don't know the contents of the email and what sort of confidentiality agreements may/may not be in place etc. etc.

If you're honestly worried about it, then I would advise getting in touch with a solicitor.

The act of cc'in or bcc'ing an email is certainly not illegal.

However, the contents of the mail may cast another light on your actions.

    (1) Intellectual Property: Did you include information in the mail that could be considered to be intellectual property?

    (2) Was the email Libelous?

    (3) Did the email contain commercially sensitive information.

    (4) Did the email contain information that showed the party in a bad light?

Get some legal advice just in case.
