running 2 monitors off a macbook

    hey gang

    i wish to connect 2 external tft monitors to my macbook, i can already successfully connect 1 monitor to my macbook and it works well witht eh adapter, but now i want o connect 2, 1 for tv and the other for computer use, i.e. web browsing,

    is there such a splitter, or adapter or summit that will allow me to do this

    You could also use a Displaylink adapter, to go from USB to DVI. I use the older version of this:

    Unfortunately, the Mac drivers are not as good as the Windows ones (:eek:) and you can only really use the USB monitor for web browsing, apps, etc but not video or gaming in most cases (performance also depends on your CPU speed).

    If you're considering the Matrox Dual/Triple head systems, be aware that the external monitors are in effect just a single large display split over two screens, so if you want the menubar on the external display - it will run across the width of the two displays. As far as your Mac knows, there's just a single external monitor.

    If you are using the MacBook built-in display too, you can set the menubar there, but if you wanted to run in clamshell mode - it might be annoying.

    I think the USB based solutions will work correctly as a true extra display, but as already posted - they can be slow.
