I was apply for a civil service job recently and on the application there was a section regarding the minimum education requirements.

And it made me think......what qualifications are required for those who recently entered the race for the election.........

I know one guy at least from the town where I was born, many moons ago, who stood as an Independent Candidate and as far as my memory serves me, he left school after 1st. year in secondary school.....

    Makes you think.......OR NOT!:)

Some cases it depends on who you know, like case here- http://www.independent.ie/national-news/hse-at-the-centre-of-nepotism-row-again-2245564.html

Other times its about qualifications and experience, often hear of google and other IT service companies complaining about the graduates with everything on paper but no experience.

Sometimes you wonder how the highly qualified and highly educated can be so stupid and lack common sense at times, aka the last gov.

Dishonesty is required for any political work. Pretty sure you would be written off at some stage otherwise.

If there was a minimum education requirement the outcry would be that the Dail was elitist and the common man wasn't represented

There is a simple mechanism in any case, don't think the guy is up to the job, don't vote for him

Even in terms of a joke, that seems unlikely.
