Hi. Okay we have 5 cats ages between 2 and 3. The girlfriends dog who is around 7 just recently moved in with us and the cats, he won't stop barking at the cats.
Some of them don't mind too much but a couple of them are quite timid and there isn't any dogs near us, so they aren't use to it. He doesn't chase tehm as he has his own enclosure in the back yard.
Well they get used to it or will the dog eventually just cop on and stop barking? Or will he never stop and the cats might run away?
Any ideas on how to integrate them?

Five years on, our rescued collie still hates the cats. Barks at the mere glimpse or sound of a cat....Cat teases them but stays well away, as the collie means business.

Only one door here and the cats even decided to use the upstairs window rathert than brave the door.. It works fine. Cats are safe and collie cannot get them. Collie was five when we took her in.

Wee dog is fine re the cats, but she knew them from a puppy.

Cats are pretty resilient. We all know that this will not change and we are all used to it. Every now and then the big male cat who is a softie, tries to make up to the collie, but never any progress and he knows to run up a tree at need..
