Hop up question maybe?

I was doing a quick check on a few of my aegs after the weekend when i noticed if the hop up was completly off the bbs did a dramatic drop so when I put some hop up on the bbs reached as far as my other aegs but with less conviction. As in the hop up had to do more work to counter the drop which in turn was putting more spin on the bbs.

They both have nearly enough same fps and I tried several different rubber/nub combinations which only gave a slight drop in fps but still the same dramatic drop when fully off.

Any ideas what/how to fix this?

As in the bbs are making the distance but are slower/starting to feather out/have less power because the hop is working harder to counter the drop.

But you said the fps is roughly the same?

So it's the same fps but it slows down quicker am I right?

both aegs have the same fps.but because the hop up has to be be on more to counter the drop its slower reaching its target but goes the same distance as the other aeg

Sounds like an air seal problem. Try wrapping some insulating tape around the barrel and hop up, just one layer. It might not do anything but I've done it before and it helped.

if it was an air seal problem I should have a drop in fps.Its almost like the the hop up in on way to much and forcing the bbs drop even tho its completely off.

You said you tried different hop up and nub combinations, but did you try soft nubs? Or even making your own?

Iv tried guarder clear nub and bucking, mudbull h-nub and bucking and 3 i had laying in the box and combinations of them all and still the same results

What I did once was got a little bit of dense foam and made it into a nub. Because it's foam it gives way a bit meaning the grip from the bucking is still applied but it's not in the way of the BB getting out. Other than that I'm stumped. Sorry

Any other ideas on what this could be?

    few questions

are they both the same type of aeg, different types of hop up are more effective and consistent ( m4 v g36 v ak design for example )

how old are the buckings in each of the aegs and how many bb have they had thought them?

buckings work on friction because of this they wear out, a soft bucking gives good hop at low fps without to much hop, problem with this is beacuse it is soft it will wear out faster meaning you need to turn the hop up more to get the same effect ( giving fps drop )

bucking have a life span depending on the brand and type this can do from only a few thousand rounds to 10s of thousands for a more robust ( also they normaly have a sweet spot and need to be bedded in , think tiers and how there performance changes with age )

the softer bucking give very good performance but the down side is they wear out fast, i would say your bucking has just worn out

have no clue why this could be happening but can only ask if you dropped or banged your inner barrel at some stage and it has bent downwards a hairs width makeing it shoot that way? after that im with monkey guy, stumped

the aeg thats firing perfect is a ares ppsh the other a real sword type 56.

Thats what I thought too but both guns are less then 3 months old and im gussing maybe only 4000 bbs each put through them.I changed the hop-up and nub from the brand new real sword to a brand new clear guarder and brand new mabull both with the same results.

Iv tried madbull p-life bbs and blasters and royal bios and still the same.Im going to swop over the barrel and hop-up from my type 56-2 to my type 56 and see if that makes a difference which would eliminate the barrel and hop.
