Few Noob Questions.

Hello, I just got Black Ops recently and I have a few questions. I'm on level 32 at the moment and I'm having great fun playing with my friends.

When you prestige, do you start all your challenges again? I wanted to complete all the challenges, but if they reset, I won't bother until I reach 15th Prestige.

What is the quickest way of ranking up and earning points? As in, what game mode earns you the most points? I'm looking to catch up with my friends and I would also like to progress through Prestiges as quick as possible.

Whenever I try to join a certain friend's session, I can never connect. Is there anything I can do about this, or is it just the way it is? "One of your party member has a strict or moderate NAT" - if I change this, will it make a difference at all?

I heard someone earlier saying you can change what you get in a care package to a random reward. Is this possible, and how do you do this? Also, can it only be done for care packages, or for any killstreak reward?

Is there any way of telling what Prestige somebody is on, without knowing the icons? I've looked everywhere I can think of, but I can't find anything. Will I just have to get to know the different pictures for the different prestiges?

That's all I can think of at the moment.

That's all I can think of at the moment.

All challenges except lifetime challenges reset, along with guns/attachments/pro perks etc unlocked.

For fast Xp I like bomb plants and defuses on demolition and headquarters, being in a good party with friends is really essential though.

If you have a moderate or strict NAT definitely try to open it, you'll be able to find games and join parties better.

You can "re-roll" a care package once with Hardline Pro. Up until the first patch it was possible to re-roll a SAM Turret and Sentry Gun also.

hi, yes you start all your challenges again as far as im aware except the lifetime(?) i think its called challenges. theyre still fun to complete even if you do plan on prestiging.

quickest game modes for ranking up are domination, HQ and S&D. that is if you have a good team.

NAT type 3 will restrict what games you can join/ what players you can join
go to youtube and search getting NAT type 1 on (enter your ISP here)
it might not be your NAT it might be the friend(s) in question.

hardline pro gives you another chance at care packages but to be honest id stay away from packages if i were you. run hardline and 3,4,5 killstreaks you will get way more points. and UAV counter UAV and napalm are solid killstreaks especially in HQ and domination.

uh yea you will have to learn the different icons i dont have a clue what is what. and remember that prestige means nothing in cod.

Yup, everything like, challenges, guns, perks, your money and all that jazz get reset, you just keep the lifetime one.

More than likely it would be playing the likes of headquarters, search and destroy and the like... Also someone said using warlord with two attachments will get you the points for two attachments while using it...

Yup, it's the evil NAT type usually doing it... If it's yours (It should say in the corner and there is a guide here

Yup, that's hardline pro, it can only be used on the care package Killstreak reward

heres a good tutorial to find out what your nat is and how to change it to open.

S&D is a great way to rack up points fast too. kills are worth alot in it

Oh I forgot to mention there's a double points weekend because of the First Strike map pack being released for Ps3, so get playing

Capture the flag i would say is a handy one for racking up the points imo , you normally get between 10 - 15 k a game , i got 32 k there today but it was still Dxp i think.

Yes it does. Jammer is very underrated IMO, great for objective game types.

i prefer motion sensor and a supressor for the likes of domination and demolition. pick a spt that i can watch teh objective from and place the sensor at my back works most of the time for me. I use to be a claymore fanatic until i realised id only get one kill but with the sensor if they keep running that direction i can shooting them

I use literally everything except the awful camera spike. All have their benefits, all of which depend on the player and the enemies. If you're a fairly decent player a Jammer on something like B flag in Dom, CTF enemy flag and Demolition is lethal. Worth giving it a shot if you don't want to use a silencer.

Never used the jammer up until 9th prestige I believe. Me and another boardsie up against a full clan on Cracked Dom and the jammer was key when placing it around B. We somehow won against all odds and jammer more than certainly played it's part.

one up on that the things a beaute started using it when i was going for hacker pro and havn't really stopped .
does it effect controllable killstreaks ?

It only affects Equipment, Radar, SAM turrets and Sentries as far as I know.
It may have some influence on V.Rockets but I never tested it.
People have claimed that it does interrupt RC-XDs but I think that is false.

Depending on your gun (I go with Famas usually, maybe not with galil), try going in loud with dual mags/sight if thats your thing and run hardline instead of ghost. Like they're going to know your general location anyways plus with a spy plane at 2 kills, counter spy plane at 3 and blackbird at 7, it can work well for the whole team.

never thought of it that way, that way silencer wouldnt be needed and other team mates in the area benifit i assume.
going for hacker pro at teh minute so will have to stick to claymore for a while but will definitly try out the jammer after that. I always figured the jammer was a dead give away that someone was close. any time i start to see the minimap change i stop moving and start to creap forward looking for who ever dropped it.

at the moment i'm using a famas - silenced, with spy plane, care package and blackbird, trying to unlock flack jacket pro but for the life of me i cant catch that last bloody grenade no matter what i do they just wont throw one at me.

i do notice that eventually the figure out where i am even though i tend to move about when watching the objective points so maybe swapping out the motion senser for a jammer would be better and tehn extended or dual mags for the silencer
