Tomorrows Irish Times main story lays more blame with Mr Ahern. This adds to the culpability of him and his teammates for the state of the country, leading to continued public anger.

So my question is will taxpayers have to pay for security/gardai to be by his side forever? At croker? Fagans? Etc

All former Taoisigh are provided with security from the state in the form of Garda drivers and the like. This scenario was actually in the pipeline to be changed until éirígí's councillor attacked Mary Harney last year, leading to reluctance within An Garda Síochána to reduce security for high profile public representatives (whether they be serving currently or have served in the past).

They shouldn't. That would be a civil matter. Physically attacking him or kidnapping him is a different matter however.

And what about Berties former cabinet and those that elected him head of their party and in return Taoiseach???? eg McCreevy (when/if back from Europe), Mary Coughlan, Mary Hanifan, Dick Roche, Sean Haughey etc

It comes with the job. But sure they do it in the USA as well. Don't former presidents get security personel when they leave office. I doubt George Bush jnr would be left to fend for himself anyway.
