    Hi Guys,

I'm looking for a 4x4 for max €6,500. Preferably nothing bigger than a 2 litre.

I won't be offroading or towing anything.

I moved out to the countryside around a year ago and need something to handle the country side roads and snow and mud that seems to be more common :)

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I thought there was a thread that answered this before but I can't find it :o

Do some searches on Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Santa Fe, Land Rover Freelander, Nissan X-Trail for starters.

Cheers for the reply Sean. I was thinking of a Rav4 or Santa Fe. Initially I was looking at the Freelander but there's a lot of negative stuff on here so that scared me off.

Passenger Horse1920. There'll be a load of kids in the back going to matches. They'd probably want seats. ;)

Yep , Seats needed - they slide around a bit otherwise- Grand Vitara is a really nice jeep -I didnt think so at first but after having one for a week loved it - 6500 is tight for a good late model not wrecked one though.

The 2.0 liter max is confining the jeep selection a bit -- if you were to increase this it would open up more yolks - OK tax higher but If diesel goes much higher and you stay on DoneDeal diligently you could pick up an older cruiser for that kind of money - but they are still pricey at the min-

I saw a pajero 04 passenger for sale on the side of the road near lanesborough about 2 weeks ago for 8000 -- Not a bad jeep but a thirsty animal.

If i see any on DD i will pass on -

    Happy Hunting

I have to say Vitara too. Parts cheap and running costs ok too.

    however
My Brother is running a 92 legacy saloon and a mate has a 00 impreza estate.

Both of them handled the snow really well over the last couple of months.

Would reckon if you want to go different - Subaru Forester
