An alternative leading opposition to ff

Ok so ff are looking at 20ish seats and sf at 15ish seats so my question is?

Could sf set up one of those technical groups we sometimes hear about with 5 or more, like (or not for mischief) minded independants to create a grouping larger than ff, and if so could this group become leader of the oppositon thus rubbing ffs nose in it even further, to the delight of almost all of the other parties I would imagine.
What advantages would this group have in terms of speaking rights, and what would it mean for ff if they were reduced to being the smaller opposition party. I'm assuming this group would not have to be all from the same party, so the independants would not have to join sf, and I assume their rights etc would be different to fg and lab in the past as the ratios and party sizes were much different to the proposed grouping above.
