Rental of cottage for recording

    I am thinking of renting a little cottage someplace like wicklow or kildare for a week to do some recording. Just wondering if anyone has ever done this and if they have any advice or know of any cottages etc that are available for this purpose?

    Not just go to a studio?

    well no, obviously I am aware I could rent a studio but the difference in the cost of a studio for a week and a cottage for a week (where I use my own portable gear) would be quite large. Plus with the cottage I will be able to write and record in a solitary environment, and work any hours I want. Plus I feel if I can get away from the hustle and bustle of work, home and city life for a week I will concentrate the mind to write better and hopefully improve my own recording techniques.

    hey man i have a place in wicklow i used recently with my band for recording which i think you might like!

    there is no recording equipment there thou so you'd have to bring your own equipment but there is a 2 storey house with kitchen toilet 3 bedrooms and then a completely seperate two storey converted shed with small stage, bar, couches, toilet etc. i brought my band over for a wknd recording and it was amazing no distractions in the middle of know where

    its free at mo aswell if you wanted to do it soon
