    quick question - i forgot to pay my motor tax over xmas so i spent nearly two months driving around without it but i sent the payment off last week for 6 months. got the cheque back today with a letter stating i have to pay a further E61 and if i dont pay that by the 7th of march then ill have to fork out another E61 so thats E122! :eek:

    that cant be right surely? im not disputing im late paying - but it was a genuine error and the E370 im paying for my tax will cover from the end of december till june. its an absolute joke. has this happened anybody else?

    It's arrears, they come in after a month after disc expiry.

    That's not how you think it is.

    Half year rate you paid now (370) is from beginning of March to end of August.
    You still have to pay arrears for January and February which is 61 euros.
