Boss hasn't paid me for work February :(

I work in IT full time (for the time being anyway) and my boss hasn't paid me for work done during February. It's nearly a week since pay day and nada. He is constantly making promises and delaying but still nothing. I read up about the Payment of wages act 1991 and avenues open to me in the medium to long term but what about tomorrow and next week. What position would I be in if I stopped showing up for work until I got paid, starting tomorrow? Would I be within my rights or is that just asking to be canned? Thanks in advance.
