This weekend (Mar 4/5th) Galway Astronomy Club is holding the annual Astronomy Festival in Galway (http://www.galwayastronomyclub.ie/).

    MT's forecast is promising:
    Tuesday, 1 March, 2011
THURSDAY-FRIDAY ... Mostly sunny and a bit milder in most places, although more cloud across the west and north at times, mostly dry with slight chance of drizzle west and north ... lows staying in the -3 to +2 C range and highs around 10-13 C. Light southerly winds.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK ... Little change, dry and large daily temperature ranges from frosty nights to rather mild days (-3 to +12 C on average). Winds should remain light.

If anyone can give more detail on the likelihood of no high level cloud, little wind, little airborne dust, and a steady atmosphere it would be appreciated.
Will the jetstream be far away?

It looks like the weather will be very good for it. The jet stream will be to the north, and it looks very settled for the weekend.
I dont know about cloud. Clouds might have formed by then due to convection. But it might clear up at night.

I'd say it could be quite cloudy by day but hopefully it will clear up at night for you.
