Can someone please invent us a poteén powered engine?

Petrol is too expensive now. if we recycled our potato skins to make poteén we could use it to get to work in a poteén power car

Can't we just power the cars straight from the skins and not be wasting good poteen?

Spud Mobiles we could call them.

Petrol is about 1.50 a litre. A bottle of strong alcohol is what, 15? To be honest, I want them to find a way of processing petrol so you that it gets you drunk(and doesn't kill you). That's a subject worthy of study.

yeah but the €15 yoyo bottle of alcohol is so expensive because health n safety have to ensure it wont instantly kill you and then the gov lump a fair bit of tax on it.

15 euro is too much for poitin, thats almost the price of the legal stuff. Ive seen it for 12 in the west.

They're already adding Ethanol to petrol: you get 5% in E5 and you can use that with no worries. More than that, best check with your car maker first.

So you could easily throw a litre of pure alcohol in your tank, assuming you hadn't killed yourself in the process of making it. But I do mean pure = 100%, 200 proof = no water allowed!

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

One issue I see though is the fuel tank. Poitin would dissolve a normal steel one, so you would have to retrofit cars with ceramic ones.

Get onto Dinny O' Rafferty. With a gallon of stout in his car, it does ninety miles an hour.

Poiteen dissolves steel? Also plastic would be better than ceramic and I'm pretty sure that most cars have hdpe tanks nowadays

I'm pretty sure it does. Isn't it made from Alien blood? It certainly tastes like it.

Maxol stopped selling it at the start of this year because the government screwed em over.

Fianna Failure wanted to make sure *nobody* escapes the high cost of fuel.
