Wanting to gauge the level of public interest in a world record attempt, namely the most kites flying at the same location.
This event is being planned for 7th August 2011 at Newcastle, Co Down.
To break the current record we need to get 6200+ kites into the air at the same time. Kites can be of any type (traditional, power, single line, 2 line, 4 line, etc).
Individuals are only permitted to fly 1 kite, so we need 6200+ enthusiasts to gather at venue to complete the attempt. Open to all ages.
    Anyone interested in attending?

I'm no good at maths, but 117 views and 2 replies (including this one) suggest interest is not exactly great.

You go to the event, you ruin it. You're recorded doing so and you become a youtube sensation leading to profit....

Dunno what you'd have to do to ruin it in such a way to become a youtube sensation.... that's up to you

    This idea simply wont fly.

in all seriousness though, you should try and organise it in conjunction with something, electric picnic. Give the hippies kites. Hippies love kites.
