    Hi,

I'm wondering has anyone found a neat way to sync media/files to their Android phone using Ubuntu?

I know Winamp allows Wifi Sync but there is no Linux version of Winamp.

    Thanks in advance,

quicksshd allows you to transfer files over wifi. If I'm not using the usb connection that's what I use. My preferred SFTP client is filezilla, but you can use the command line too (sshfs works for example when you have quicksshd installed, allowing you to mount your phone as a folder in ubuntu).

There's an app called FSync that I use to sync a couple of folders with an FTP server.

You could set up an FTP server on your Ubuntu machine and then install the Fsync app on your phone. I haven't used it for media files but it works fine for my photos to keep them backed up for when I inevitably lose or break my phone.

Fsync is a bit fiddly but if you can use Ubuntu and know how to set up an FTP server then the app won't bother you.

I can confirm that this is in fact great. :) Just installed it there. Getting much better transfer speeds than via SFTP.

    rsync backup for Android

If you know how to configure ssh on the ubuntu end, this can make the whole thing really easy.
I use it to sync up podcasts from my ubuntu PC.
Basically, it just syncs up with the contents of gpodder downloads.
    Can be automated with tasker
