    Regarding an argument in this thread, do women cost more in terms of health costs?

    Or is it an unjustified myth?

    I would imagine that simply living longer would increase their health costs. I do remember reading somewhere that women are also more inclined to visit their doctor than men, but no idea where that was.

    Maternity costs would presumably add a fair bit to the overall costs incurred by women.

    Yes that's definitely true, don't have a ref. but remember reading it a number of times- it's quite a large gap too if I remember correctly.
