Dealextreme Shipping Delays

    Hi All

    I placed an order with Dealextreme on 28/01/11. They took payment a day or 2 later. It said on order status some items were on backorder. Now the status has changed to "Packing". It has been on that status for the past week. I have emailed them twice to get an order update but they not reply.

    Has anyone out there had similar experiences with Dealextreme. Are there any better/faster companies. e.g. Light in a box, etc.

    I use deal extreme a lot and never had an issue. Did you get shipping email to track order.

    Just got an email this morning to say my order was shipped. I guess it took so long due to some items being on backorder

    I have had long delays on certain items. I would advise against ordering different items on teh same order, e.g. 5 of the same item is OK, if you order 5 separate things my theory is they must all be organised from different factories and so cause delays. This is anecdotal from myself and friends, if one item is not in stock they will hold them all, the odd time if very delayed they send partial orders and since they have "free" postage they lose out on this.

    Also Chinese new year would have caused delays, the entire country effectively shuts down for that holiday and they would have big backlogs.

    They may also be feeling the pinch from the Winter delays that caused so many problems over Christmas. Backlog from this has only recently cleared out, and then with the Chinese new year on top of it, everything has gotten delayed again. This will all have hit DX orders from their suppliers being delayed and held up.
