not many great car and great engine 1.8T i presume ?

Full service history is must esp a service history showing that the oil and filter in the haldex clutch (the clutch that engages the rear wheels to bring it into 4wd,this is often neglected by irish dealers if there is no idication that it was changed atl east every 40k i would walk away.

225bhp is the one to go for.

Check service history carefully as the clocks tend to give trouble in them needing a full replacement unit.

Some miles can sometimes disappear while the clocks are being changed.

Insist on a full service history and also be wary as the TT never lived up to the bullet proof reputation that people associate with Audis

Electrics give the most trouble in them, not sure if the coil pack problems affected this engine though in the same way it affected the ones fitted to the VW models

The clocks can be repaired now instead of replacing.
Coil packs are a problem on most 1.8t's. I had one die at about 30k miles, replaced all 4 with genuine (not motor factor) coil packs and never had a problem after that.

Make sure the oil was changed regularly, sludge can block the oil pickup in the sump if it's not changed and use good vw spec oil.

Transverse engines with 4wd are haldex, like tt and S3, octavia and so on.

Its the ones which have already been replaced I'd be most worried about in terms of correct mileage

Just need to confirm the mileage with invoices/dealer/nct certs.
You may also be able to read the ecu recorded mileage using vcds.
