volvo v50 2008 has another problem

    Hello everyone.
My volvo v50 registered in 2008 has near 70000 kms on the clock
recently when driving it has started to act less than in a comfortable way.
when driving along at 30 miles an hour it feels like some one is holding the car back and when at 80 and 100 klms a mile it not only feels like someone or something is holding it or pulling it back it also vibrates quite badly.
ive had the tracking and the front wheels checked. they were fine.
there are no error messages popping up on the dash board at all.
from googling vibration problems i found asite where the solution for the man whose volvo was vibrating badly in question was a follows :
"They first put two different "donor car" wheels on the front, no difference. They then did the same on the rear... that worked. So they took a look at the rear wheels (apparently everyone had been concentrating on the front) and the ONE WHEEL that had not had a new tyre fitted was badly out of balance (and there are a lot of weights on there now). But its cured. I still have no idea how a rear wheel suddenly goes out of balance. But it is ok now"
Does this sound plausible for a car that while also viabrating also feels like its being held back/pulled back while driving forward.
    Regards
    BC

sorry for reopening this thread but i am still having the car "pulling back" problem.
    shes had a full service and the last problem left is the following;
At an even throtle she is drawing back9 between 2000 and 3000 revs) but there is no lack of power when accellerating so the fuel seems to being delivered.
    thanks again

    Diesel?
If so, perhaps check the DPF for clogging due to short trips. Another suggestion would be to check EGR valve. I don't know much about the diesel engines but have read a little on common problems.

    Accelerate upto 100km/h
Push in Clutch and let the car coast (with no one behind you obviously)

Can you hear any noise coming from the back, humming or a cyclical rubbing noise.

If its humming you probably have a knackered bearing, if its a rubbing noise then its a binding caliper and one of the rear discs is warped.

if its the first one you need to replace the wheel hub.

if its the second then you need to replace the discs + brake pads on both side.

no noise coming from the back or humming but today when he was reving it: when the revs went up the vibrations came out through the back of the driver and front passanger seats ie you could feel vibrations on your back like a massage chair.
i will be taking all suggestions to the mechanic in the hope something works as its getting worse. When she was serviced he had to realign all four tyres and one of the rims was bent so that was fixed on the day which sorted out another problem she had.
i will ask him to look into what you say and see what he can do.

i will ask the mechanic to do this when he gets the car back.
i have zero mechanical experience so i will leave it to him.
plus he can legally do it on the south link road without breaking the law!!

No point... if its happening when the car isn't moving its something engine related .. possibly an engine mount
