With all due respect what is a failed bookie who folded leaving money owed on national television less than a few months after his downfall, doing lecturing on how to salvage the country - the neck of him !!!

also wasnt he supposed to take a few weeks off newstalk after his receivership - he didnt even do that!!

The last two guests are there for comedy...

To be fair to Ivan Yates, he was in FG, he was in government and he had a valid opinion.

Dessie Ellis really is a plank. He says there are not enough houses in the country? Claire Daly was speaking about devaluing our currency - it seems she does not realize we are in a currency union.

I mean, really . . . have we elected a circus of an opposition? :(

When you become a socialist do this mean you have to be miserable? :(:(:(

I know it's the Frontline but I don't think I've ever seen Clare Daly smile.
    Same for Joe Higgins

My post is way offtopic, just something I've noticed. Others have too

he was a cabinet minister in a very successful FG-Labour coalition, so he was very relevant to tonights discussions

    Same for Joe Higgins

Joe Higgins doesn't smile, because nobody smiles at him.

How could you smile at a man who takes an hour to finish a sentence?
Joe Higgins has no concept of the word, 'concise'.

He was a successful politician and after political life he was a successful bookie employing hundreds of people across Ireland.

A drop in peoples discretionary income has had a massive effect on the betting industry and he could no longer compete with the big firms. He went broke trying to save the business and took 3 weeks off newstalk following the demise of the business.

typical Irish attitude that someone whose business fails has no right to talk. In the US they regard that as "experience".

He is a actually a broadcaster and journalist for several years since AFAIK. Who better than someone who went through it to tell about how it is?

Really? And you evidence is? You are of course wrong.

I saw Higgins laughing for the first time on the Joan Burton Vincent Browne haranguing show. :)
