Opel corsa won't start. It's a 1.0 litre 3 cyl 02. Timing chain wear is believed to be the cause. What would the best method of putting it right? New timing chain or second hand engine?

Are you getting fuel and spark and have you compression tested it?

Who came to the conclusion that the timing chain is the cause of the non starting problem? Might not be, could be other things.

Metal to metal type clattering when the engine is being cranked. Metallic particles in engine oil. My guess was the timing chain as they seem to be prone to it???

I'm going to guess new engine, by the sounds of it.

But that's based on hearsay and conjecture!
