Taking up the piano...

    Hey I'm planning on taking up the piano pretty soon and have a tutor ready to help.. but what I was wondering is, is there any tips you could give me as a beginner or even help for practicing??

    Try lifting smaller objects first, a couch is a good place to start though it depends what size piano we're talking and where you're taking it up to.

    Heh, well do you have a piano? Are you buying one etc.? Learning the piano is no differerent from learning any other instrument; it requires relentless practice. If you are learning from a tutor you should be sure that you can draw the line between your own aspirations and those of your tutor. They will almost universally not be the same. Set goals for yourself and use all resources available to achieve them. And enjoy your playing, most importantly.

    Yeah I have a piano in my brother's house so I can play most days. Thanks for tips, should help in the end!
