My mondeo has been very slow to start the last few mornings and almost flattened the battery. Could it be heater plugs or any idea what the problem is. Starter turns but sometimes not fast enough

it could be a low battery. or just as likely the heater plugs. one of the 2 i reckon

Mine can be liek this if cold, I turn it on, let the amber light go out, turn it off and tunr it on again till amber light goes off again. If I turn it on then seems to work better!

Sounds like your battery is on the way out.
You can give it 3 or 4 pre-heats, ie. turn your ignition on until the preheat light goes off and repeat without starting, in quick succession, and then start it.
If it starts easily, its a glow plug issue, if it still struggles it's probably the battery.

FYI, if you move to a 'smart' meter electricity plan, you CAN'T move back to a non-smart plan.

You don't have to take a 'smart' meter if you don't want one, opt-out is available.

Buy drinks in 3L or bigger plastic bottles or glass bottles or cartons to avoid the DRS fee.

Don't count on the new battery being good. Hard winters can damage a battery pretty quick and if yours has sat for a while undercharged it could be a goner.
