    hi lads
i got my .17 licence today so i will be straight down to the range to get use to the rifle and then when thats done i am finally going to get a chance to go shoot some bunnies for the first time. my uncle is going to bring me out but before i get that far i have a few {possibly silly:eek:}questions
1: is there a season for rabbits?
2: where do you shoot the rabbit? head/shoulder.....
3: whats the best time of day to go?
4: besides the gun what else do i need?
5: i never heard of someone eating a fox so what do i do with one if i shoot it?

now im sure my uncle will tell me all these and more but i like to try be a little prepared;)

    cheers
    tommy

1 there is no season for rabbits but dont shoot every rabbit you see on your permission this makes a lot of sence because if you shoot all the rabbits eventually there will be no rabbits

2 if the rabbits are for the pot the best and only place is head shots

3 i find in the evening is the best time to shoot rabbits

4 make sure you bring your licence with you its your only form of id to show you are licensed to carry a firearm

5 if you do shoot a fox stick him in the pot and give him a go and let everyone here know what there like :D:D:D:D

    HAPPY SHOOTING

    2. Alot of shooting rabbits is getting a safe shot on them too, well that goes for anything you shoot.

3 Along with evening rabbits can be lamped at night too. Although it can be more difficult.

    4. Something to put dead rabbits into, like a bucket or plastic bags. They might be bleeding and if you're driving you hardly want blood in your car.

    5. Put him in a remote ditch. Or take a picture first if you want. You could skin him and tan the skin but thats another skill to be learnt. I wouldn't try eat one myself.
