CDs in Hand Luggage?

I probably sound silly asking this, but I don't want to get to airport security only for them to tell me the disc I'm carrying is a potential weapon.
I want to bring a CD to London. It's a gift for a friend. I'd prefare to keep it in my hand luggage so that it doesn't get damaged in transit. Has anyone encountered any problems travelling with CDs/DVDs/etc?

I can assure you that you won't have any problems with a CD/DVD.

I've heard of a case where the content of the CD was checked upon entering the US, and since it contained a work portfolio, entry was refused to the non-US resident carrying it. They suspected she wanted to find a job there, which was actually the case. Pretty stupid on her behalf.

^^Mine's just a music CD so that shouldn't be a problem. Unless there are subliminal messages or something :p
