    Hi folks,

I'm looking into buying a gents bike.I do a lot of road running so it would form part of my training.Maybe a 20-30km cycle once a week.I'd be using good roads, country roads, dirt tracks, gravel.Nothing too fancy, just to keep up the fitness, cycle into town or bring it along for a weekend away.

    Any suggestions??

What porportion of your mileage is actually going to be on dirt roads and gravel? Because if you're actually going to be on the road the vast majority of the time get a road (racing) bike. As regards what model to get, that depends on your budget.
However the most important thing to consider when getting a new bike is getting one in the right size so as to avoid injury.
