6 inch cavity ok?

    Can anyone tell me if a 6 inch cavity is ok in a new build dormer , would i have problems down the road structurally. I plan on pumping in insulation.

    120mm would be the maximum size for a 'standard' cavity, using 'standard' wall ties, lintels, cavity closers, etc., etc. A cavity any wider than 120mm generally needs the input of a structural engineer to look at and specifiy wall ties, etc.

    i built 150 mm cavity, no struct eng needed for me just heavier wall tiles. Why stop at 150mm I intended to do 200mm but building control (in NI) didn't like sound of it, because they are in dark ages!!
